Ontario Peach Frosé
Written by Dietitian & Mom: Elis Halenko

A refreshing way to cool down and celebrate the best of summer.
When Ontario peaches are in season, you don’t need to do much to make them shine. This Peach Frosé is my go-to summer drink when I want something cool, fruity, and simple to whip up—whether I’m winding down after dinner or having friends over for a sunny backyard hangout.
The best part? It works with or without alcohol, so it’s easy to serve for a crowd with different needs—just swap the rosé for ginger beer or sparkling water for a non-alcoholic version that still feels like a treat.
And yes—you can absolutely serve this to toddlers and kids without the wine. Just blend up their batch with the bubbly option and enjoy it together as a refreshing family-friendly summer sip.
Why You’ll Love It
-
- Highlights fresh Ontario peaches at their peak
- Grapefruit and ginger add brightness and zing
- No added sugar—just fruit-forward goodness
- Comes together in minutes
- Works both as a cocktail and a non-alcoholic spritz
- Freezer-friendly for last-minute guests
- Highlights fresh Ontario peaches at their peak
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 3 ripe Ontario peaches, sliced and frozen
- Juice of 1 pink grapefruit
- 1–2 tsp fresh grated ginger (or to taste)
- 6 oz dry rosé
OR ginger beer or sparkling water for non-alcoholic version - 5–6 ice cubes
Instructions:
- Prep ahead: Slice your peaches and freeze them at least 4 hours or overnight. This gives your frosé that thick, slushy texture without needing extra ice or sugar.
- Blend it up: Add frozen peach slices, grapefruit juice, ginger, ice cubes, and your choice of rosé or sparkling beverage to a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and tweak: Want more zing? Add more ginger. Need it a bit thinner? Splash in more rosé or sparkling water to loosen the texture.
- Serve immediately in chilled glasses and enjoy on a patio, porch, or wherever you soak up summer.
Dietitian Notes
Seasonal fruit = better flavor and better value. Ontario peaches are juicy, sweet, and affordable during peak season. Freezing them at home preserves nutrients and keeps the sugar natural and whole-food based.
Ginger adds not just flavor but anti-inflammatory benefits and supports digestion—especially great after a summer BBQ or heavier meal.
Rosé is typically lower in sugar and alcohol than heavier wines. For non-alcoholic guests, ginger beer or sparkling water adds that same refreshing fizz without any alcohol.
For toddlers/kids: Blend a no-alcohol version with sparkling water, frozen peaches, and just a touch of ginger. Serve in a reusable straw cup or popsicle mold for a fun, fuss-free treat.
Hosting Tip
Make a big batch and freeze in individual mason jars or silicone cubes. Just thaw slightly and re-blend for quick entertaining or weeknight wind-downs.
